The best shopping spots in Chicago

Macy's is probably the best place for shopping and window-shopping. Its size is impressive and its stores are spread over 10 floors. A single day will not be enough to see everything. The Water Tower Place skyscraper is also huge. Its shopping centre covers more than 68,000 m². The Lego shop there represents the buildings of the city of Chicago in miniature (with Lego bricks of course). It's cute!

Are you peckish? The best restaurants

In Chicago, don't miss the local specialty: deep dish pizza. It's a thick, generous pizza with lots of toppings. It's more than recommended for fondue lovers. Try it at Original Gino's East (162 E Superior St.). Otherwise, there's the Doughnut Vault where there's always a line up for the best doughnuts in the country. It's well worth the trip. For steaks, 318 North State St., Smith & Wollensky.

Lovers of good music, don't miss these places.

Chicago is the blues capital. If you're a music lover, head to one of the city's jazz clubs to listen to good music in an intimate atmosphere. Kingstone Mines is one of the best known for its blues rhythm. The Lilly's bar often welcomes young and very talented bands. House of Blues is also part of this list. So your trip to Chicago will be perfect. Don't forget the most important thing though: online electronic travel authorization (official ESTA document). This is a mandatory approval that every French person must have in order to fly or sail to the USA. It therefore replaces the visa, but not always. Take the time to apply for it a few months before your departure.
